The quintessential sportscaster, Emmy Award-winner Bob Costas has been covering the greatest, most inspiring sporting events for more than 20 years. Known for his class and charm, he has come to be one of the most respected sports journalists of our time. A veteran of NBC, Costas currently hosts Inside the NFL and Costas Now for HBO and is the regular substitute host for Larry King Live on CNN. Bob has been with NBC Sports since 1979, and has also hosted HBO sports and entertainment programs since 2001. Bob has covered every major sport, but is most identified with the Olympics and baseball. He anchored NBC's primetime coverage of the last six Olympic games (four summer and two winter). His peers have named Bob National Sportscaster of the Year an unprecedented eight times. Bob began his career at the age of 22 at KMOX radio in St. Louis, where he broadcast a variety of live play-by-play and studio programs from 1974 through 1981. Bob is a native of Queens, N.Y. and grew up on Long Island. He attended Syracuse University in New York, where he majored in journalism.
