WARRIOR ICE BREAKER TOURNAMENT TICKETS ARE
ON SALE NOW THROUGH TICKETMASTER
WARRIOR AND TOTAL HOCKEY ON BOARD AS SPONSORS OF SEASON-OPENING COLLEGE HOCKEY EVENT IN ST. LOUIS
TOURNAMENT WEEKEND COINCIDES WITH
BLUES HOME OPENER
ST. LOUIS – Aug. 2, 2010 – Three years after the Frozen Four captivated St. Louis, major college hockey is returning to the region. The Warrior Ice Breaker Tournament debuts at Scottrade Center Oct. 8-10, and beginning today, area fans can secure tickets to the unique four-game, season-opening event.
Tickets for the 2010 Ice Breaker are available through Ticketmaster. Fans can purchase tickets online at www.ticketmaster.com, by phone at 800-745-3000, and in person at all Ticketmaster outlets or at the Scottrade Center box office. Tickets are sold on an all-session basis only and provide admission to all four games. Prices are $65, $55, $45 and $25. Plaza and club level seats will be reserved; mezzanine level seats are general admission.
The 2010 Ice Breaker will feature four of the nation’s premier hockey programs: Boston University, Holy Cross, Notre Dame and Wisconsin. Holy Cross will meet Notre Dame at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 8. In the evening’s second game, Boston University faces off with Wisconsin at 8:30 p.m. The tournament’s consolation game will be played at noon on Sunday, Oct. 10. Faceoff of the Warrior Ice Breaker championship game follows at 3 p.m. The St. Louis Blues open their season at home against the Philadelphia Flyers at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 9 – the day in between the Ice Breaker semifinal and championship dates.
The programs competing in the 2010 Ice Breaker share 11 NCAA titles. Boston University won the 2009 Division I championship; Wisconsin advanced to the 2010 Frozen Four final.
In addition to individual tickets, discounted tickets for groups of 20 or more are available and can be purchased by calling 314-345-5111. The St. Louis Sports Commission is also selling special VIP Packages for the Ice Breaker Tournament. Packages include great seats, hospitality and more. The Sports Commission, host of the Ice Breaker, announced Warrior as the title sponsor for the 2010 tournament. Total Hockey is also a major sponsor of the event.
“We’re very excited to have Warrior and Total Hockey’s support for the 2010 Ice Breaker Tournament,” said Sports Commission President Frank Viverito. “Their commitment and involvement in the weekend of events will assist in continuing to raise the profile of college hockey in St. Louis.”
As part of their sponsorship, Warrior and Total Hockey will have a major presence at the Ice Breaker Fan Fest and other festivities associated with the opening weekend of the 2010-2011 hockey season. Warrior also will serve as the title sponsor for the Ice Breaker Jr. Tournament, which will include more than 150 youth hockey teams from around the country. Featuring kids ages 7 to 18, the junior tournament coincides with the college Ice Breaker in St. Louis. Games will be played at seven area venues.
